2023 Ecuador Challenge for Shelter

We did it ! We’ve emerged from our 5 days hiking in the Andes Mountains of Ecuador! With weather conditions ranging from blistering heat to below freezing, sunshine, clouds, rain and hail; we continued onward with full hearts and have raised over 1.7 million for women’s shelters in our communities !! I couldn’t be more proud of our accomplishments.

2023 Royal LePage Shelter Foundation Trek

Women’s shelters in Canada need our support now more than ever to fund their life-saving and life-changing work. As we emerge from the COVID pandemic, shelters across the country are reporting rising rates of domestic violence and more women than ever who are reaching out for help. While most of our lives have returned to normal, there are women and children in all corners of the country who are now fleeing the danger within their homes and working to rebuild their future after experiencing domestic violence. 

I plan to help and I hope you will join me in making a difference!

In November 2023, I will be heading to Ecuador to trek 5 days towards one of the highest active volcanoes in the world! During this high-altitude adventure, I will be hiking long days across varied terrain in unpredictable mountain weather. I’ll be camping in a tent and going without cell service, electricity, bathroom facilities and other comforts of home. This trek will not be easy but it will be immensely worthwhile. Each step I take and every dollar I raise will support courageous women and children in my community who are seeking safety and hope for a life free from abuse.

We are pleased to support our long time student and ambassador Melody May in her Ecuador CHALLENGE project to raise funds for shelters in our community. Melody will be taking part in an 8 day trek in November 2023 and her goal is to raise $10,000 through various fundraising activities.
This spectacular high altitude trek is not for the faint-hearted, as it is physically demanding and peaks at 3,750 meters above sea level, near one of the highest active volcanoes in the world.

We are reaching out to you to participate in these practices in large numbers and be challenged by our Karma actions! Good for you, good for the community.
